The Big Easy
A pre-holiday getaway in early November to the Big Easy, New Orleans, where the city was beginning to decorate for Christmas. The weather was a bit damp and chilly, but we had a great time. First things first, we stopped at Cafe du Monde for coffee and beignets. A stroll by some celebrity homes in the Garden District- where we were the only ones on the walking tour. A quick peek at Commander’s Palace, although we could not get reservations. So we went and ate at Emeril’s instead.

Hola, Puerto Vallarta
A September getaway for some sun and sand. Ironically, leaving the PNW in the fall, we arrived just in time to get doused by a rainstorm in Mexico. The storm blew over and we had some great days, including a dinner in the Romantic Zone at a restaurant that used to be the home of Elizabeth Taylor. We paid a quick visit to our favorite beachside village of Bucerias and , of course, I had a little run down to the marina.
Morocco
Our big spring trip of 2023 was Morocco. It had never really been on our radar as a travel destination, but after booking a China trip and having it canceled due to COVID, we had to find another location. On a whim, we chose Morocco and I’m glad we did. The trip took us from Casablanca to Rabat, Fes, through the Atlas Mountains to some desert village, into Marrakesh, and back to Casablanca. We stopped on the way home in Paris and stayed outside Versailles. There we had one of the most amazing meals ever at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant.
